Blue Ridge Books honors...Banned Books!

by Blue Ridge Books on 08/30/13

Can you guess what the books on our front display have in common??? *drum roll please*

They are all banned books!!

Banned Books Week is an annual event in September celebrating the freedom to read.   The week is to observe and raise awareness of the value of free and open access to information.  All of the books in our front display have been banned at some point in time and in some place (library, school, etc.).  We display them to emphasize the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.

Bart D. Ehrman returns to Blue Ridge Books to discuss his newest book, How Jesus Became God. Ehrman is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has published extensively in the fields of New Testament and Early Christianity. Written for secular historians of religion and believers alike, How Jesus Became God will engage anyone interested in the historical developments that led to the affirmation at the heart of Christianity: Jesus was, and is, God.
